For platforms and developers
Large platforms issue identities for agents inside their own systems. ID MANDAT is the neutral directory for the outside: it tells anyone who meets an agent which company is behind it and what the agent may do. We do not want to build this alone.
What we offer
- An open standard. The specification (
/.well-known/idmandat.jsonand a DNS proof) is free to use under CC BY 4.0. See Standard v0.1 and github.com/idmandat/standard. - Compatible, not competing. The standard is designed to work with A2A, MCP and Schema.org. A platform's own identifiers can be referenced in the credential.
- Verification without an account. An agent can read the domain and credential itself. Register checks (commercial register, VAT ID) are the additional “Verified” level.
- An EU-based company as point of contact, with links to German registers.
Where things stand
- Standard v0.1 is a draft. Feedback is explicitly welcome.
- The source of the Python and Node verification libraries is available as a preview at github.com/idmandat/check. A published release on npm and PyPI follows later.
- Registration as an official internet standard (IETF, IANA) is planned but not yet filed.
Working together
If you run a platform, an agent framework or a directory and want to support, comment on or connect to the standard, write to partner@idmandat.com. Technical suggestions can also go directly into the GitHub project.
